Communications Manager role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies to amplify the organization’s mission, engage stakeholders, and advance recovery-friendly policies and programs. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to build brand awareness, strengthen community engagement, and support advocacy, housing, workforce development, and member engagement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional communications experience, preferably in nonprofit, healthcare, or social services sectors
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences
  • Graphic design skills and proficiency with design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
  • Experience with social media management and content creation across multiple platforms
  • Website content management experience (WordPress or similar CMS)
  • Email marketing platform experience (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar)
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Understanding of AP Style and communications best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Data analytics and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
