Senior Corporate Counsel, Legal – Global Sales and Business Operations & LATAM

Role Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a strategic, business-oriented attorney and leader to lead legal support for Global Sales and Business Operations globally and serve as regional leader of legal support for Latin America. This role will lead a high-performing legal team supporting commercial and strategic legal matters involving support to global business teams responsible for the sale and distribution of PlayStation video games.

What You Will Do

Lead and manage a global team of one attorney and two paralegals, develop and execute legal strategy, serve as primary legal advisor to SIE’s business units in Latin America, draft and negotiate commercial contracts, and provide general legal advice on business and commercial activities.

Requirements

• JD or LLM from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• California Bar membership preferred (or eligibility for California Registered In-House Counsel status)
• 12+ years of relevant legal experience
• 3–4 years of in-house experience at a gaming, technology, or entertainment company
• Deep experience in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements
• Strong understanding of Latin American law, particularly Brazil and Argentina, as well as US, Canada and Mexico
• Written and Spoken fluency in either Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese, preferably both
• General litigation experience
• Familiarity with budget tracking or expense management
• Experience working with and managing outside counsel on specific matters
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor and guide team members and people management skills with a collaborative leadership style
• Proven ability to influence and advise business partners and senior stakeholders
• Strategic thinker with a business-friendly mindset and practical approach to risk
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Passion for gaming, media, and technology industries
• Knowledge of the video game industry is desirable
