Financial Planning Consultant

Role Overview

As a Financial Planning Consultant, you’ll work with dynamic colleagues to develop financial planning capabilities within Sun Life Financial Distribution. You’ll be responsible for supporting the continuous growth of knowledge and skills required by Sun Life advisors to provide effective financial planning to clients.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include leading individual virtual practice sessions, organizing regional and seminar training, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve advisor financial planning capabilities, collaborating with marketing teams, and contributing to developing financial strategies.

Requirements

• A Financial Planner designation from the Institute of Financial Planning (IPF)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in financial planning or a related field
• In-depth understanding of financial planning principles and practices
• Mastery of financial planning tools, including Conquest software
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Proven talent in animation and presentation
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms
• Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple clients
• Familiarity with digital tools for virtual meetings and collaboration (e.g. MS Teams)
• Ability to work effectively in a team with other financial professionals
• Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written)
