Data Engineer Market Analysis

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to building reliable data foundations for the electricity system of the future, ensuring the Netherlands can complete the transition to a reliable CO2-neutral electricity supply. You will work in the Design unit in the Market Analysis Team, where we shape the energy transition.

What You Will Do

You will design, build, and maintain prototype ETL/ELT pipelines for market simulations and energy system analyses, process, clean, combine, and validate large datasets from internal and external sources, and automate data processing, quality controls, logging, and monitoring around model input and output.

Requirements

• completed WO education in data science, informatics, engineering, econometrics, mathematics, or related field
• knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, data warehouses, data lakes, or modern cloud data platforms
• proven hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Databricks, Azure, and/or PowerBI for data processing, analysis, visualization, and automation
• familiarity with version control and software engineering principles, such as Git, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD
• affinity with energy systems, electricity markets, optimization models, and/or simulation models is a strong plus
