Role Overview
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in shaping inventory and gross margin insights for a multi-billion-dollar retail business. This role works closely with Finance and business stakeholders, building models, influencing decisions, and supporting high-impact forecasting and scenario planning.
What You Will Do
Conduct financial analysis regarding Inventory and Gross Margin; interpret analysis and provide recommendations to business partners and management. Support creation & maintenance of monthly, annual, and long-range plans and forecasts relating to Inventory and Gross Margin.

Requirements
- post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Finance/Accounting, Commerce/Economics, Mathematics)
- working towards a business-related designation (e.g. CPA) is an asset
- minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting financial analysis and building financial models
- Inventory/Gross Margin analysis experience in a retail environment is an asset
- working knowledge of SQL (including the ability to write and execute queries)
- knowledge of database design, statistical theory, data manipulation concepts, and proven analytical skills
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Excel (analysis features)
- ability to work independently, accurately estimate the time required to complete projects, follow up on assignments, and keep appropriate team members informed of progress
