Team Leader – Business Growth

Role Overview

The Team Leader will lead and manage the Business Growth team, working with the Head of Investment and Development to ensure the effective delivery of the Council Plan, Economic Framework, Business Growth Strategy, and West Midlands Growth Plan. The role involves leading the development of the Business Growth service, building relationships with strategic employers, supporting entrepreneurs, and removing barriers to employment growth.

The Team Leader will lead on developing the Business Growth service, including strategic account management, building relationships with key growth sectors, and leading on advice, support, and interventions to help businesses and residents in Walsall.

Requirements

• Grade G11
• £53,051 – £56,293 salary
• 3+ years of experience in business growth, economic development, or a related field
• Strong understanding of business needs, growth sectors, and economic development strategies
• Ability to lead and manage a team, build relationships with stakeholders, and communicate effectively with customers
• Proven track record of delivering business growth and economic development initiatives
