Axiler is an AI-native application security startup building Athena, a platform that orchestrates SAST, DAST, SCA, and WAF into a unified detection-to-remediation pipeline. Athena applies Bayesian confidence scoring, NLP-driven CWE normalization, and reachability analysis to cut through vulnerability noise and route fixes to the right place, automatically. We work with enterprise clients in regulated industries where the cost of a missed vulnerability is not abstract.

Role Overview

You are the technical lead in Athena’s pre-sales and proof-of-value motion. You understand how real AppSec stacks are built, where they break down, and how to demonstrate concretely why correlation and AI-driven prioritization change the equation. You can speak to a CISO about business risk and then sit with a security engineer and walk through CWE taxonomy, WAF rule logic, or SAST false positive rates in the same afternoon.

What You Will Do

• Lead technical discovery with enterprise prospects to map their current AppSec toolchain and identify where Athena’s correlation layer plugs in
• Scope, deploy, and document proof-of-value engagements, configuring Athena against the client’s existing security tooling across SAST, DAST, SCA, and WAF
• Demonstrate Athena’s seven-stage correlation pipeline to technical audiences, including CWE normalization, reachability gating, Bayesian confidence scoring, and virtual patch generation
• Translate PoV findings into business-language outputs for CISOs and CROs, covering false positive reduction, priority rank accuracy, and WAF rule coverage
• Build and maintain integration playbooks for Athena’s connector catalog across issue trackers, CI/CD pipelines, compliance platforms, and communication tools
• Represent Athena’s ML-driven prioritization model credibly to security-sophisticated buyers, explaining how Bayesian scoring combines CVSS, reachability, and business context signals
• Feed structured client feedback to the product team, particularly around correlation edge cases and connector gaps

What We Are Looking For

• 3 to 5 years in application security engineering, DevSecOps, or AppSec pre-sales
• Hands-on experience operating or evaluating SAST, DAST, SCA, and WAF tooling in enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of CWE taxonomy, OWASP Top 10, and how vulnerability classes map across detection tool categories
• Familiarity with how ML-based prioritization models work conceptually, including scoring signals, confidence thresholds, and false positive tradeoffs
• Experience communicating technical findings to non-technical executives through risk framing rather than raw severity counts
• Exposure to CI/CD security gates and how AppSec integrates into developer workflows

Nice to Have

• Experience with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 compliance workflows in a banking or fintech context
• Familiarity with WAF virtual patching workflows and rule generation logic
• Prior work with AI-assisted triage or security automation tooling
• Understanding of reachability analysis or taint tracking in SAST
