We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and management reporting for a growing public company.

Reporting to the CFO, this role will partner closely with senior leadership and operational teams to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and strengthen the company’s planning and reporting capabilities. The role will also support quarterly and annual reporting, earnings calls and business updates, board materials, MD&A and investor-facing financial analysis.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate can move seamlessly between big-picture strategic thinking and detailed financial analysis and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, cash forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance, identifying key business drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and challenge forecasts, spending plans, headcount, capital expenditures, and key operating assumptions.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic decisions, capital allocation, growth initiatives, and investment decisions.
  • Prepare clear, decision-oriented financial materials for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting, including MD&A, earnings calls, quarterly business updates, investor presentations, and other financial communications.
  • Develop and enhance KPIs, dashboards, management reporting, and financial planning processes.
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Investor Relations, Legal, and operational teams to ensure accurate and consistent financial information.
  • Proactively identify gaps and build the models, tools, analyses, and processes needed as the Company continues to grow.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related discipline.
  • Public company experience strongly preferred, including exposure to quarterly reporting, Board materials, earnings preparation, investor communications, and/or MD&A.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, cash flow, scenario analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance preferred; Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, technology, or other high-growth or capital-intensive industry experience is desirable.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • A builder mentality, with the initiative and resourcefulness to develop solutions where processes or tools may not yet exist.
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves, go-get-it attitude with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-growing organization, where priorities evolve quickly and individuals are expected to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior executives and other stakeholders.

The Successful Candidate

You are someone who does not simply report the numbers. You understand the story behind them, ask the right questions, and turn financial information into actionable business insights. You enjoy building and improving processes, are comfortable working with ambiguity, and know when to dive into the details and when to step back and focus on the bigger picture.

This is a hybrid position, averaging 2 days per week at the South Boston, VA manufacturing campus. The role includes a highly competitive base salary, annual bonus, equity and a great benefits package with premiums covered at 95% by the company. In addition, the company will cover travel expenses for on-site visits or provide financial assistance if you require relocation.
