Position Summary

Our client, a major Southern California electric utility, is looking for a senior change management and communications professional to join the Strategic Performance Improvement team within its Environment, Health, Safety & Quality (EHSQ) organization. You’ll help the business adopt strategic initiatives and operational improvements. That means building and running change plans, supporting an enterprise-wide Continuous Improvement program, and writing executive and organizational communications. This is a hands-on role, not an advisory one. Utility experience isn’t required, and people from aerospace, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and other regulated or technical industries are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead organizational change management (OCM) for EHSQ transformation initiatives: build and carry out change plans, drive adoption of new processes and programs, and help business areas make changes stick
  • Support the rollout of an enterprise-wide, grassroots Continuous Improvement (CI) program by promoting a CI culture, encouraging idea generation, driving engagement across business units, and moving improvements from concept to execution
  • Partner with environmental teams on process improvements and risk-reduction initiatives, supporting change adoption and communicating process changes and implementation plans
  • Write and help deliver communications, including executive messaging for the EHSQ Vice President, department updates, organizational announcements, program communications, and stakeholder messaging
  • Support the design and rollout of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) to simplify processes, reduce risk, and improve operational consistency
  • Strengthen EHSQ’s ability to work as one unified function by improving strategic planning, change leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations
  • Manage the environmental culture strategy, roadmap, and project portfolio to build a culture of compliance and environmental stewardship
  • Manage several initiatives at once: track progress, give status updates, coordinate stakeholders and deliverables, and keep execution moving

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive hands-on OCM experience supporting strategic initiatives and enterprise-wide change programs
  • Background in continuous improvement, transformation, employee engagement, or culture change
  • Experience in management consulting, organizational effectiveness, or program/project management support is a plus
  • Experience supporting represented or union workforces is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong change leadership, with practical experience building change plans and driving adoption
  • Prosci methodology preferred; Prosci certification is a plus but not required if you have strong practical OCM experience
  • Excellent writing, including executive-level messaging and organization-wide communications
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence at every level of the organization
  • Organized and able to handle multiple priorities with clear progress tracking (PMP or a specific project methodology is not required)
  • Self-starter who adapts quickly and thinks strategically
