Customer Success Manager – Startup (Brooklyn)

Customer Success Manager (Project Managers Welcome) | Up to $150k, No Quota | Brooklyn, NY

This is a non-sales client role. If you’ve managed lots of complex projects at once and want more time with clients, your background is exactly what this team has hired well from before.

The company

A seed stage startup helping venture backed founders shut down their companies properly, handling the legal, tax and operational side of a wind down. They’ve supported hundreds of startups in two years, reached an eight figure run rate and raised $12M from Floodgate, Afore, Ludlow and Hustle Fund. A second business licensing data to AI labs is growing fast, which is driving hiring across the team.

The role

You’ll own 30 to 40 clients through the full wind down process, from onboarding to final investor payouts. Success is measured by speed, accuracy and client confidence. Not revenue, not renewals.

What you’ll do

• Be the first point of contact for your clients across email, tickets and phone
• Handle IRS 966 filings, asset transfer agreements, account closures and capital distributions to investors
• Onboard new clients and guide them through every stage
• Become an expert in corporate wind downs
• Feed product improvements back to engineering
• Write help centre content

What they’re looking for

• 2 to 5 years in client success, client operations, implementation or project management
• Experience in a complex or regulated environment (fintech, legal, tax, finance) is a big plus
• Confident with founders, lawyers, investors and accountants
• Highly organised, able to juggle many clients without dropping anything
• Empathetic, curious, comfortable making judgment calls
• Happy on the phone
• Startup experience and tools like Zendesk or Pylon are nice to have

• $90k to $150k base, no commission, no quota
