On Site Full TimeDelray Beach, United StatesStevenDouglas

StevenDouglas has exclusively partnered with a publicly traded company headquartered in South Florida that is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to lead its SEC reporting and technical accounting. The company recently went public, and is on a roll: double-digit revenue growth, the strongest quarter in its history, and new revenue streams coming online. This is a chance to put your stamp on a public company’s reporting function while it grows.

Why this role stands out

üöÄ Momentum: A growing public company, achieving consistent double-digit growth year over year

Real impact: You’ll own the 10-K, 10-Q, earnings support, and Audit Committee materials, not one section of them.

High visibility: You’ll report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer who our firm placed, and work closely with the C-suite.

üõ†Ô∏è Room to build: You’ll shape SOX controls, accounting policies, and reporting processes at a company still defining how it operates as a public entity.

Career growth: Room to expand your role as the company grows.

Leadership: You’ll lead and develop a Senior Accountant.

Strong benefits: Low healthcare costs for individuals and families, plus a 5% 401(k) match.

Modern tools: NetSuite and Workiva.

What you’ll do

  • Lead preparation of the 10-K and 10-Q, including footnotes, MD&A, XBRL, and 8-K and proxy support.
  • Serve as the go-to technical accounting resource on revenue recognition, leases, stock compensation, impairments, and business combinations, and write the technical memos that document those positions.
  • Oversee the close-to-report process and the financial reporting calendar.
  • Lead SOX 404 controls, including documentation, testing, and remediation.
  • Prepare Audit Committee and Board materials, and support earnings releases and investor calls.
  • Partner with external auditors, Legal, Investor Relations, and FP&A.
  • Drive automation and process improvements across reporting.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Active CPA license (required).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or at a public company.
  • Hands-on SEC reporting experience and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication with senior leaders and auditors.
  • NetSuite and Workiva experience (a big plus).

Current SEC Reporting Managers ready for their next step, established Directors, and Audit Managers or Senior Managers with SEC clients are all encouraged to apply.
