This position reports to the Sales Manager and is located in the Eastern/Central US with occasional travel to Richmond, VA. This role is contributing to the Electrification – Smart Power Circuit Protection Business Area in the US.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to adapt and implement sales support strategy for a designated area in accordance with the global support strategy. Each day, you will ensure technical and commercial support for internal and external customers. You will also showcase your expertise by overseeing estimations, bids, and proposals ensuring alignment with ABB standards and targets and leading, developing, and coaching the Sales Support team.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Defining key targets and ensuring their achievement by overseeing progress and defining improvement actions for customer support and satisfaction.
- Ensuring the most competitive offers considering the market situation and customer conditions; and identifying the most effective approach (e.g., direct sales, consortium, or channel) for better serving the customer.
- Overseeing the validation of terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, and pricing) in each offer; and supporting bid/no bid analyses and decisions.
- Participating in project risk review processes; and ensuring the required technical support and clarifications are provided to the Sales organizations during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with customers.
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or similar field
- 7+ years of experience in sales operations, forecasting, demand planning, sales enablement, or strategic account management ideally in industrial, electrical, engineering, or mission-critical infrastructure sectors.
- Advanced skills with BI tools (Power BI, Snowflake), Excel, SAP, and Salesforce CRM.
- Experience working with Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, reporting; knowledge of Excel Power Pivot and Power Query preferred.
- Ability to translate complex technical and operational information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in global or matrixed organizations.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage concurrent multiple initiatives.
- Experience supporting mission-critical customers (data centers, hospitals, utilities, industrial facilities).
- Familiarity with various customer go-to-market strategies, such as iRep, Distributor, Value Added Reseller, integrators, and direct/end-user.
- Strong understanding of UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, and power distribution equipment.
- Familiarity with long-lead-time electrical components and supply chain constraints.
- Process-driven mindset with strong attention to detail, structure, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $116,200 and $185,920 annually and is bonus eligible.
