Business Data Analyst

Role Overview

Join our Business Intelligence team as a Business Data Analyst, working 70% on business analysis and 30% on data analysis. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in working with business stakeholders, understanding business objectives, and translating business needs into clear documentation.

Key responsibilities include engaging business stakeholders, leading discovery sessions, presenting requirements to BI developers, managing requirements traceability, and analyzing current-state processes to identify gaps or inefficiencies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering and documentation for technology, data, reporting, or analytics solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation-ready documentation.
• Experience working with business stakeholders through user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solutions and ensure delivered functionality meets business expectations.
• 3+ years of hands-on SQL experience, including the ability to query, validate, reconcile, and interpret data from multiple systems.
• Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos, or Tableau.
• Experience developing report or dashboard mockups and presenting visualization concepts to business stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and Power Query.
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, including participation in backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and release activities.
