Role Overview
As a Principal Business Intelligence Specialist (Operations), you will support the Office of Business Intelligence and Operations Coordination’s mandate by analyzing sovereign operations data and providing insights that strengthen data-driven decision-making across ADB. You will lead strategic alignment and operational efficiency by overseeing and assessing the project pipeline for consistency with sector, thematic, and regional priorities. You will also enhance the quality and readiness of project data for reporting and monitoring, including support for Board approvals, early identification of processing delays, and strengthening implementation readiness.
What You Will Do
Your work will focus on monitoring and analytics for upstream project processing, using lessons learned and forward-looking analysis to improve project efficiency, readiness, and quality. You will also help consolidate and validate data from systems such as eOperations and Sovereign Operations (SovOps), while identifying ways you can improve how you capture and use this data.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires close collaboration with Sector Departments, Regional Departments, and the SovOps team in BIOC. You will need to lead and develop clear and innovative dashboards, visualizations, and reports to monitor and report on pipeline delivery and project implementation. You will also represent BIOC in cross-functional working groups on project pipeline management and processing improvements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in information technology, data science, business administration, economics, engineering; or University degree and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered.
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in data analytics, portfolio analytics, or business intelligence, with experience in operations, project management, organizational development, or policy formulation including international experience working in several countries.
- Experience using data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau.
- Hands-on experience in data analytics, data visualization, or business intelligence.
- Demonstrated capacity to learn and apply new technologies.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written formats in English.
- International experience working in development.
