Data Engineer

Role Overview

Barco is looking for a Data Engineer to join its global Data & BI team. The role combines hands-on data engineering in Microsoft Fabric with a solid understanding of SAP BW. You will work with business stakeholders, data engineers, BI developers and architects to modernise Barco’s data landscape and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

What You Will Do

As Data Engineer, you will design, build and improve data solutions used across Barco. Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, developing and maintaining SAP BW/4HANA data models, and transforming, cleansing, validating and enriching data using PySpark and Spark SQL.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing or a similar role.
• Must have completed B.E / B.tech / MCA /M.Tech in educational background.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data services
• Knowledge of Fabric Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory and notebooks is preferred.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with ETL/ELT, data integration, modelling, and warehousing.
• Experience with Python for data processing and pipelines.
• Experience with SAP BW, preferably BW/4HANA, and knowledge of SAP ERP data.
• Experience with Power BI, semantic modelling, Power Query or DAX is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills across business, technical and global teams.
• Bachelor’s, master’s or engineering degree in computer science, IT, data engineering or a related field.
• Good written and spoken English.
