Data Scientist

Role Overview

The Data Scientist will be responsible for performing advanced analysis using R, SAS, SPSS, or related statistical packages, and developing hypotheses and making recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business, finance, economics, marketing, or a related field, and experience in synthesizing and packaging complex analyses for non-technical audiences.

The Data Scientist will perform advanced analysis using R, SAS, SPSS, or related statistical packages, develop hypotheses, make recommendations, and deliver results to senior leadership teams. The ideal candidate will also have experience in developing strong partnerships across a multi-layered organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
• Minimum 3-6 years of relevant professional experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Advanced SQL skills
• Ability to perform advanced analysis using R, SAS, SPSS, or related statistical package
• Familiarity with Python, or related scripting language
• Moderate to advanced Tableau skills
• Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations
• Strong presentation skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience synthesizing and packaging complex analyses and delivering results to non-technical audiences including senior leadership teams
• Ability to develop strong partnerships across a multi-layered organization
• Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors, and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
