Head of Business Development

Role Overview

The Head of Business Development will be responsible for establishing and growing the business in a new market, building partner relationships, and shaping the strategy behind it. This is a broad role that requires someone comfortable moving between different aspects of the business, including partnerships, regulatory groundwork, operational setup, and commercial negotiations.

What You Will Do

The role involves identifying and closing partnerships with financial institutions and ecosystem players, leading commercial negotiations, and working with legal, product, technology, and compliance to get agreements live quickly. The Head of Business Development will also establish how the market operates, including regulatory requirements, and act as a primary point of contact for regulators.

Why It Might Be a Fit

We are looking for a generalist with real negotiation and partnership experience, who is comfortable moving between strategy and execution, and willing to do both in the same week. The ideal candidate will have a track record of building something from nothing, and be comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed.

Requirements

  • Fluent Indonesian and English, written and spoken
  • Obtained WPE/WAPERD qualification
  • At least five years across technology, financial services, or a comparable commercial environment, with real negotiation and partnership experience
