Business Development Manager

Role Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the business development process for assigned opportunities, serving as the capture lead for pre-RFP activities and serving as proposal manager at RFP release. The BD Manager will also be responsible for guiding capture/proposal teams through business development processes and procedures.

The Business Development Manager will lead capture for designated new business opportunities, develop non-technical proposal sections, and provide quality control for the proposal and proposal process.

Requirements

• BA/BS, MA/MS/MBA, or equivalent in Economics, Trade, Business, International Relations, or a related field
• at least 10 years of directly relevant experience with a BA/BS or 8 years with an MA/MS
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing large, complex proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs issued by US Government agencies
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including synthesizing information and informed assumptions to assess and form a clear picture of client intentions before solicitation release
• Familiarity with government and/or international donor procurement processes and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive proposal and report writing
• Strong attention to detail and ability to independently manage multiple requirements, tasks, and shifting priorities, meet deadlines, and provide guidance and directions to teams to meet proposal milestones
