Role Overview

The Communications Data Analyst makes Chevron’s communications data reliable, accessible, and useful for decision-making.

What You Will Do

Query and prepare data, build dashboards and reports, check data quality, own the taxonomy workflow, translate needs into requirements, analyze communications performance, and help teams use data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
• 5+ years of analytics or business intelligence experience, including work with communications, marketing, or public affairs data
• Proficiency in SQL, including joining multiple tables, filtering and aggregating data, and validating query results
• Experience working in a data lake or data warehouse: navigating schemas, finding the right tables, and understanding how fields, metrics, and dimensions connect
• Experience managing content or campaign taxonomies, naming conventions, and tracking standards, including governance, implementation, and data audits
• Hands-on experience with data from communications and marketing platforms such as Sprinklr, Meltwater, Google Analytics, and social media analytics tools
• Proven ability to build dashboards and recurring reports in Power BI or Tableau
• Strong attention to data quality, with a habit of checking numbers and chasing down discrepancies
• Ability to explain data issues to non-technical colleagues and describe reporting needs clearly to technical teams
• Advanced Excel skills
