Technical Leader – Java/Go, Microservice & Database

Role Overview

As a Software Engineering Technical Leader, you will design, build, and deliver platform and user-facing capabilities for Cisco’s Licensing On-Prem applications. You will remain hands-on while guiding major initiatives from concept through production and operation.

What You Will Do

Design and deliver backend and platform capabilities that improve reliability, scalability, security, operational efficiency, and developer experience. Contribute to design, development, code reviews, debugging, testing, and production issue resolution using either Java or Go, together with Python.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 11+ years of professional software development experience delivering enterprise-grade backend, platform, or systems software.
• Expert-level backend development experience with either Java or Go, combined with strong Python proficiency, including the design and implementation of services, APIs, and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, transactions, query performance, and distributed systems concepts such as consistency, concurrency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools for software design, implementation, code review, troubleshooting, or developer productivity.
• Strong experience with Linux, host-level troubleshooting, CI/CD, unit and integration testing, release engineering, and production operations.
