Data Analyst

Role Overview

The City of Carmel is seeking a motivated, innovative, and detail-oriented Data Analyst to help drive data-informed decision-making and improve operational performance across city departments.

Transform data into actionable insights, develop interactive dashboards and reports, streamline data integration processes, and help departments better understand and use the information that supports their daily operations and long-term goals.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in information technology, data science, statistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, analytics development, or data engineering.
• Experience querying and analyzing relational databases using SQL, including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable platforms.
• Experience developing dashboards, semantic models, measures, and calculations using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.
• Experience working with data integration, automated workflows, and ETL/ELT processes using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or comparable technologies.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, data validation, data governance, and information security practices.
• A valid Indiana driver’s license, which must be maintained throughout employment.
