Role Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for prospecting, developing, and maintaining business relationships with small organizations in the commercial sector to promote and sell products and services. This role uses technical business knowledge and a solid grasp of procedures to negotiate agreements with moderate impact on the business centre. The incumbent ensures consistency between sales objectives, risk management, portfolio profitability, and client satisfaction.

What You Will Do

Initiate, develop, and maintain personalized business relationships with current and potential clients to promote and sell products and services. Act as a key intermediary between the business centre and members, analyze needs, develop personalized solutions, and negotiate conditions. Identify business development opportunities, execute promotional activities, and participate in public relations and community events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Knowledge of the latest financial, economic, policy and legislative developments
  • Ability to perform analyses of the market and the business centre external environment
  • Ability to perform financial analysis
  • Knowledge of the characteristics and credit risk inherent to the major commercial, industrial and institutional markets
  • Knowledge of loan and guarantee contracts
  • Knowledge of products and services for businesses and those offered by caisses, components and Desjardins distribution networks and those of the competition
  • Knowledge of financing and credit management practices related to businesses
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation and standards governing the products and services offered by the business centre
  • Knowledge of business credit authorization, monitoring, collection and recovery practices
  • Knowledge of the Desjardins business processes
  • Understanding of the referral process
  • Familiarity with government business assistance programs
  • Networking skills
  • Strong sales skills
  • Knowledge of service standards
  • Understanding of cooperative and cooperative network values, rules and operations
