Lead Data Analyst

Role Overview

Excella is seeking a seasoned Lead Data Analyst who will not only deliver high-quality data analysis and insights but also mentor and guide junior analysts within the team.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include leading analysis and interpretation of data, mentoring junior data analysts, partnering with stakeholders, designing and implementing robust data models, and communicating complex data insights to executive stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in data analysis, expert SQL skills, and experience with data visualization tools and cloud analytics products.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data analysis or related fields
• Expert SQL skills, including query optimization and data transformation
• Extensive experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Strong understanding of cloud analytics products such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Microsoft Azure
• Proven experience applying statistical techniques to drive business insights
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage ambiguity
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to engage with senior stakeholders
• Experience leading teams and mentoring junior analysts
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and backlog management tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
• Ability to develop and present executive-level data reports and recommendations
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis is a plus
