Role Overview
The Sr. Associate Sales Engineer is an early-career, pre-sales technical role supporting the Sales Account Executive team. This person contributes to individual sales opportunities under the guidance of senior Systems Engineers, building foundational expertise across the Extreme Networks portfolio while developing the skills needed to progress toward a Systems Engineer role.
What You Will Do
Support the Pre-Sales team in the design, planning, and delivery of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and technical validations for assigned opportunities, execute defined pre-sales tasks within the sales cycle, participate in customer calls and technical conversations, and build proficiency across the Extreme Networks portfolio.

Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in networking, pre-sales, or technical support
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Foundational knowledge of networking technologies and eagerness to expand that knowledge quickly
- Ability to independently run standard product demos and contribute to POCs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with growing comfort presenting to technical audiences
- Ability to work within a team, take direction well, and apply feedback from Account Executives and senior SEs
- Willingness and ability to travel within region, up to 60%
- Foundational certifications preferred but not required (e.g., ECNA, CCNA, CWTS, or equivalent)
- Exposure to two or more of the following is a plus: Network Access Control (NAC), RADIUS, 802.1x, Active Directory, LDAP, Security fundamentals: firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention, Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP, Wireless, VPN, SDN, SaaS, IPv4/v6 routing protocols (OSPF, VRRP, BGP, PIM, etc.), Layer 2 switching (802.1Q, 802.1D, 802.1x)
