Collector Non-Electrically Qualified – Local 102-92 – PA Revenue Operations – State College Service Center

Role Overview

This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The employee in this position is expected to perform a variety of duties in accordance with the company’s customer service policies to encourage the collection of delinquent accounts.

What You Will Do

Communicates effectively with customers regarding delinquent account balances, provides information on payment arrangements, and initiates customer referrals to Customer Assistance & Referral Evaluation Services (CARES) representatives.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with equivalent work-related experience
• Ability to work safely and follow applicable safety rules relative to work assignment or related field experience
• Extensive knowledge of the Operating Company’s service areas, and knowledge of basic electricity
• Manual dexterity to operate handheld devices and accurately input information
• Ability to do considerable walking or driving, ascend and descend steps and ladders, work in all weather conditions, and navigate across rough terrain
• Ability to lift and carry more than 25 pounds
• Ability to read and report meter data accurately, read and take appropriate action based upon reports and work orders
• Ability to deal with customers and the public in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to communicate effectively and operate two-way radios, telephones, cellular phones, and other communication devices
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance
