Data Engineer (People Analytics)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Data Engineer to join our Global People Analytics team in Hyderabad. The role will involve implementing Databricks across our People data estate, maintaining and optimizing the new Databricks environment, and tackling broader data engineering responsibilities within the Global People Analytics team.

What You Will Do

Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines to support analytics and business operations. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code and ETL/ELT processes. Ensure data is dependable, accurate, and delivered in a timely manner.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering with a focus on data. They will also have hands-on experience with Databricks, proven background in data modelling, methodologies, and security design, and strong SQL skills.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering with a focus on data
• Hands-on experience with Databricks (Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, notebooks, workflows)
• Proven background in Data modelling, methodologies, and security design
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with at least one programming language
• Hand-on and recent experience of Big Data, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT routines and concepts
• Familiarity with GenAI tools and LLMs (e.g. Claude, Copilot)
• Interest in exploring agent-based analytics and automation to solve recurring data problems
• Prior integration experience with HCM systems is desirable
• Previous hands-on experience of Workday PRISM preferred
