Communications & Government Affairs Manager

Role Overview

You will be accountable for delivery of GSK’s communication and government affairs in Portugal. You will shape how GSK is seen by policymakers, healthcare stakeholders and the public, ensuring GSK is perceived as a trusted partner externally, influencing national policy and managing external affairs matters both on an ongoing and issues management basis.

What You Will Do

Develop and deliver local communications and government affairs plans aligned to global direction and local business priorities. Build trusted relationships with government, healthcare decision makers, patient groups and trade associations. Lead media relations, public communications, and reputation work, including proactive campaigns and reactive issues management.

Why It Might Be a Fit

You will be based in Lisbon with a mix of office and remote work and external engagements. Occasional travel across Portugal and to regional meetings may be required.

Requirements

• Degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, Life Sciences, Business or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, public affairs, government affairs or a related role.
• Experience in media relations, issues management, public and government affairs, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong written and verbal skills in Portuguese and English.
• Practical understanding of Portugal’s healthcare and policy environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and budgets with attention to detail.
