Business Development Representative

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative will work in the Howden Employee Benefits division, supporting the Business Development Team. The role involves proactively responding to email and web enquiries, making outbound calls to prospective and existing clients, and arranging meetings for Consultants. The job holder will also work closely with the marketing team, supporting them with campaigns and delivery of great content and advice for clients and prospects.

What You Will Do

The role involves managing a pipeline of prospective clients and accurate data, contacting prospects, managing the Customer Relationship Management database, and ensuring that all activities are consistent with Company/Group policies. The job holder will also plan and report on their work priorities and activities, provide relevant management information to the senior manager, and undertake research on behalf of their manager as required.

Requirements

• Experience in a B2B telesales / telemarketing role
• Experience of working within an insurance and client-facing environment
• Previous experience of working in a sales or marketing environment is desirable
• Awareness of the regulatory environment and requirements including e.g. FCA rules, data protection, money laundering, specific standards of insureds’ professional bodies
• Knowledge of the market within which the company operates including an awareness of competitors, specific territory knowledge, cultural awareness
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
• A levels minimum or tertiary level qualification is desirable
