Business Development Manager

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding Independence Construction’s presence in the Columbus market. This role focuses on developing new client relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, identifying project opportunities, and positioning the company for continued success across its commercial markets.

What You Will Do

Develop and execute business development strategies, identify and pursue new project opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key industry partners, and maintain a strong presence in the Columbus business community.

The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of business development experience within the AEC industry, an established professional network and relationships within the Columbus commercial construction market, and a strong understanding of the commercial construction industry and local market trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field
• 5–8 years of business development, client development, or marketing experience within the AEC industry
• Established professional network and relationships within the Columbus commercial construction market
• Strong understanding of the commercial construction industry, project delivery methods, and local market trends
• Proven ability to develop client relationships, identify opportunities, and generate new business
• Experience with RFQ/RFP responses, proposal development, and client presentations
• Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and pursuits
