Director of Finance Operations

Role Overview

The Director of Finance Operations is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial information, strengthening internal financial controls and procedures, and ensuring Finance processes support organizational and regulatory requirements. This position works closely with school leadership, the Board, external auditors, and the School’s outsourced CFO/finance partner and serves as Insight PA’s internal lead for Finance and Accounting.

What You Will Do

The Director of Finance Operations oversees the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the School, including general ledger activity, financial transactions, month-end and year-end close processes, bank and cash account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and practices, experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal financial controls, and the ability to analyze budgets, financial results, and variances and communicate findings clearly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including financial management responsibilities
• Experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end/year-end close, budgeting, and audit preparation.
• Experience developing or maintaining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Experience supervising or providing functional oversight of financial operations.
• All PDE-required clearances for school-based personnel.
