Role Overview

The Data Analyst will organize, consolidate, analyze, and synthesize documentary, qualitative, survey, workflow, and technical evidence generated under the tasks below. The Analyst will maintain a coherent evidence base across assessments and consultations and convert inputs from the Team Lead, Lab Information Systems Officer, Laboratory and IT Systems Specialist, stakeholders, and existing records into traceable findings, tables, summaries, action items, and draft deliverable content.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include working under the Team Lead’s direction, coordinating with the Lab Information Systems Officer, Laboratory and IT Systems Specialist, IBTCI project management, MEL, and quality-review personnel. The Analyst will contribute to the delivery of four tasks: LIMS Integration with Surveillance Systems, Review Digital Systems and SOPs for Outbreak Response, Host Technical Working Group (TWG) Meetings for Digital Systems Action Plan, and Improve SOPs for Tamanu and Senaite.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, information management, health informatics, public health, monitoring and evaluation, social science, information systems, or a closely related field, and at least 5 years of experience in data analysis, evidence synthesis, research or assessment support, information management, or technical-report production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, information management, health informatics, public health, monitoring and evaluation, social science, information systems, or a closely related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, evidence synthesis, research or assessment support, information management, or technical-report production
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or comparable tools for data cleaning, validation, coding, tabulation, and visualization
  • Experience supporting mixed-method assessments, stakeholder consultations, interviews, surveys, and/or workshops, and synthesizing findings across multiple sources
  • Excellent English analytical writing, editing, organization, attention to detail, and communication skills, including preparation of clear tables, charts, briefs, presentations, and report annexes
  • Understanding of data confidentiality, secure handling, de-identification, access control, and responsible use of sensitive health or stakeholder information
