Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) Remote – Denver, CO

About the company

Our client helps everyday people build long-term wealth through income-producing investments, without needing to become full-time investors themselves. Rather than chasing quick transactions, they act as a long-term advisor to clients, from first-time buyers to seasoned investors growing large portfolios, and that approach drives a steady flow of repeat and referral business. They offer education and consultative conversations instead of hard-sell pitches, and build lasting relationships where success is measured by doing right by the client.

They are a growing organization with experienced, financially disciplined leadership, now building the commercial engine to take them to the next stage.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO, you will be accountable for revenue strategy, performance and predictable growth. You’ll build and lead an integrated commercial operating model that converts qualified investor demand into completed transactions, strengthens builder and lender partnerships, and improves the economics and scalability of customer acquisition. You’ll own the revenue plan, sales effectiveness, pipeline integrity and commercial results, and align marketing, operations and finance around the client journey from first interest through closing and repeat investment.

This is a hands-on executive role for a leader who knows which opportunities are real, can explain precisely where and why conversion breaks down, and takes ownership of fixing it, not one who simply inspects dashboards. You’ll give the CEO and board an unvarnished view of performance, risks and the decisions required.

What you’ll do

  • Own the revenue plan. Build and execute annual and quarterly revenue strategy, including channel priorities, targets, conversion assumptions and capacity. Pressure-test assumptions, set decision triggers and act quickly when results deviate.
  • Build a high-performing sales organization. Set clear standards for productivity, conversion and client experience. Hire and develop leaders, inspect deal quality directly, coach where it changes outcomes, and make hard performance decisions. Build a repeatable model that scales beyond individual producers.
  • Forecast with credibility. Own a stage-based forecast with shared definitions across sales and finance. Explain variances, leading indicators and corrective actions to the CEO and board, and partner with the CFO/COO on bookings, closings and cash timing.
  • Design sales coverage and demand conversion. Determine the right mix of Investment Strategists, SDR capacity, routing, follow-up standards and enablement, using CRM data, call quality and cohort performance to optimize speed to lead and stage conversion.
  • Drive profitable, repeatable growth. Evaluate segments, markets, channels and lead sources by acquisition cost, conversion and lifetime client value, and reduce dependence on any single source of demand or sales talent.
  • Build strategic inventory and lending partnerships. Develop a differentiated network of builders and providers, set partner selection criteria, assess capacity and concentration risk, and negotiate terms. Work with lenders and finance to improve financing options, incentives and deal viability, and hold partners accountable through clear scorecards.
  • Own the commercial client journey. Set standards for engagement, transparent expectations, handoffs and escalation from qualification through repeat purchase, and resolve the recurring causes of lost or delayed transactions.
  • Establish revenue operating discipline. Own CRM governance, funnel definitions, dashboards, sales process and data quality, with a single accountable owner for each handoff.
  • Align go-to-market. Partner with marketing on segment strategy, positioning, lead quality and acquisition economics, and lead cross-functional decisions on inventory, lending and closing capacity with clear trade-offs and ownership.

What we’re looking for

  • Progressive executive revenue leadership, with ownership of a material revenue target and a record of sustained, profitable growth.
  • Experience in residential real estate investment, build-to-rent, builder and lender ecosystems, transaction-based sales, HubSpot or investor pro-forma analysis is a strong asset.
  • Experience building and scaling a multi-person sales organization, including leadership hiring, operating cadence, coaching and performance accountability.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen across funnel economics, acquisition cost, forecasting, resource allocation and scenario planning.
  • The ability to build an integrated go-to-market model across sales, marketing, revenue operations and client experience, with clear decision rights and metrics.
  • A record of developing strategic partnerships, negotiating commercial terms and managing supply or channel dependencies that materially affect revenue.
  • Executive judgment and resilience: you challenge assumptions, separate real opportunity from optimistic pipeline, own misses without defensiveness and bring clear decisions to a CEO and board.
