Role Overview

This is a senior business development opportunity focused on expanding a technology-driven mobility solution across a defined state or regional territory. The role combines strategic account development, government relations, consultative selling, and competitive RFP leadership.

What You Will Do

You will build relationships with public-sector leaders who influence student transportation and mobility decisions, engage directly with school district and state officials, and own pipeline development while partnering with internal teams to convert qualified opportunities into long-term customer relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or government relations within student transportation, transit, or a closely related public-sector-facing industry
  • Established, active relationships with Superintendents, Transportation Directors, and/or state transportation or education officials
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder public-sector sales cycles and competitive government RFP processes
  • Strong consultative selling capabilities, with the ability to understand district challenges and position technology-enabled mobility solutions around relevant business and operational outcomes
  • Deep understanding of public-sector procurement processes, budget cycles, RFP timelines, funding environments, and stakeholder decision-making
  • Existing membership or active involvement in state pupil transportation associations or national organizations such as NAPT or NSTA is strongly preferred
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • High degree of personal integrity, sound judgment, and discretion when representing an organization to public officials
  • Ability to navigate procurement ethics requirements, gift and hospitality policies, and other public-sector compliance considerations appropriately
