Data Engineer

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer at lastminute.com, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data models, working with stakeholders to define KPIs, and building validation rules and monitoring to ensure data quality. You will also be expected to leverage AI-assisted tools to improve your work and contribute to the development of the department’s AI capabilities.

What You Will Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include owning the data model of your business area, building relationships with stakeholders, and analyzing data to inform business decisions. You will also be responsible for building validation rules and monitoring to ensure data quality, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve your work.

Requirements

• Solid, hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or a similar data role
• Real depth in dimensional modelling
• Advanced SQL and query optimisation on a cloud or MPP warehouse
• Hands-on dbt experience for transformation and modelling, and comfort with orchestration
• Working knowledge of a business area and the ability to connect data work to business outcomes
• A track record of working directly with non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent English, written and spoken
