Business Data Analyst – Corporate Functions Technology

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-savvy Data Business Analyst to join our Finance Data Delivery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions, supporting transformation initiatives across Finance Operations and Actuarial functions.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to data and reporting. Translate business needs into functional specifications and data mapping documents. Conduct structured interviews and mock requirement exercises to assess analytical thinking.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Insurance and/or Investment Management industry, strong understanding of data analysis, data governance, and business process modelling, and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of data analysis, data governance, and business process modelling.
• Experience in comparing, analysing data sets, patterns and schemas
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (i.e. SQL, Excel, Python)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Scrum).
• A scientific mindset and structured problem-solving approach
• Attention to detail and data accuracy
• Basic knowledge of Pyspark, Python, Azure
• Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Experience with Azure technologies (e.g., Logic Apps, Data Factory) is a plus
