Role Overview
The Senior Data Analyst will help shape how New Zealand’s tourism data is accessed, understood, and used. They will design and deliver impactful dashboards, data products, visualizations, and insights for government and industry decision-makers.
What You Will Do
The Senior Data Analyst will apply data, analysis, and storytelling skills to turn complex information into practical evidence. They will develop and improve tourism data products, dashboards, and analytical tools across the full data product lifecycle.

Requirements
- Significant experience in data management, analysis, and visualization
- Strong experience using R and/or Python to manage, transform, and analyze data
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and interactive analytical products using Power BI or similar tools
- Three or more years of relevant professional experience
- Experience designing user-focused data products that improve accessibility, usability, and decision-making
- Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into practical analytical solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and conveying the messaging tailored to the audience
- A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality customer-focused products
- The legal right to live and work in New Zealand and the ability to satisfy MBIE’s security clearance requirements if required
