Business Development Executive – Higher Education Construction

Role Overview

The Business Development Executive will partner with business unit market leaders in developing and supporting positioning strategies with existing and potential customers to win project work. This role requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment.

What You Will Do

Manage the positioning activities of the business development team, participate in strategic business planning, create and produce internal and external communications, and establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven success developing and maintaining strong relationships with higher education customers
• Proven knowledge and execution of successful marketing strategies
• Experience leading business development efforts within the higher education market
• Established network within the higher education sector and demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with key decision-makers
• Detail orientation sufficient for data entry, reporting, financial projections for sales and selections, and market analysis
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent CRM web application skills
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Minimum 10 years prior industry-related business development experience
• Current driver’s license
