Role Overview
As a team member in Finance at Nationwide, the opportunities are endless. The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the location in Columbus, OH. Work schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote. This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.
What You Will Do
The role provides business-minded thought leadership throughout all phases of data development, including intake, work initiation, requirement gathering, and iteration planning. The associate will serve as the data-related voice of the customer, translating functional data and analytic requirements into solutions for consumption and use by the respective business area.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The associate will evaluate potential data impacts, coordinate with stakeholders, and serve as steward for data governance, access rights/audits, and defect resolution.
Requirements
- Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred
- Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus
- Certifications are not required but encouraged
- 6-10 years of relevant experience with data management organization/standards or practices
- Experience engaging business leaders, data architects, and external consultants to identify and fill gaps in data and analytics environment
- Proficient in data acquisition, data wrangling, and/or data visualization techniques and tools (i.e., SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, etc.), and cloud technologies – Azure and AWS (i.e., Redshift, S3, EC2, etc.)
- Experience in statistical analysis, interpreting results in determining data quality and fit for purpose
- Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus
