Associate, Finance Operations

Role Overview

The Associate, Finance Operations supports the financial operations and administration of New York Life Agents Reinsurance Company (NYLARC) and its parent company, NYLARC Holding Company, Inc. The role combines financial analysis, accounting, and administrative support, with an emphasis on accurate reporting and practical improvements to recurring processes.

What You Will Do

Prepare recurring financial and operational analyses, write and update SQL queries, use Databricks for data preparation and validation, prepare and update dashboards, perform data-quality checks, identify repetitive manual steps and recommend practical improvements, use company-approved AI platforms to assist with documentation, summaries, formulas, and queries.

This is an individual contributor position with no supervisory responsibilities, requiring strong Excel skills, understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial controls, and basic financial analysis, attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in finance operations, accounting, financial analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Working knowledge of SQL, including selecting, joining, and aggregating data and checking query results.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables, and data validation; proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial controls, and basic financial analysis.
• Attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear communication; ability to manage assigned deadlines, work collaboratively, and recognize when guidance is needed.
• Ability and interest to learn Databricks, and company-approved AI tools and apply them responsibly to day-to-day work.
