Scientific Data Engineer – to build systems and structures

Role Overview

The Scientific Data Engineer will work closely with biology, chemistry, design, and data science teams to build systems and structures that capture data accurately and smoothly. The role requires a strong passion for data in drug discovery and experience in a scientific environment.

What You Will Do

Develop and manage the Orbis data platform, write and maintain ETL data pipelines, safeguard data integrity and quality, collaborate with software engineers and data scientists, and act as the go-to contact for lab scientists.

Requirements

  • A degree in chemistry, biology, bioinformatics or a related field
  • 3+ years of industry experience in a scientific environment
  • Good working knowledge of Python and common data libraries
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience designing data structures for scientific data
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of working collaboratively with scientists
