Senior Data Analyst – Data Quality

Role Overview

The Data Quality team investigates complex data questions, validates the quality and reliability of Placer’s data products, and helps customer-facing teams understand what the data is telling them. The role requires strong analytical judgment and an exceptional approach to QA, with a focus on hands-on investigation in Databricks and a highly business-oriented approach.

What You Will Do

Investigate complex data quality questions, work hands-on in Databricks, write code and build notebooks to explore and analyze large-scale datasets, and challenge assumptions to distinguish between expected data behavior and actual data issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data research, business analytics, or a similar analytical role
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis, investigation, and QA
• Experience working with Databricks or a similar large-scale data environment, including writing code and creating analytical notebooks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to investigate ambiguous problems independently
• Excellent QA instincts and attention to detail
• Solid understanding of statistics, data quality, and analytical methodologies
• Experience using AI-assisted analytical and coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools
• Strong business orientation and the ability to understand data questions in the context of customer and business needs
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customer-facing and Commercial teams
