Marketing Automation Engineer / Lifecycle Ops – Klaviyo

Role Overview

We are looking for a freelance Automation / CRM Engineer (Klaviyo) who is fluent in French, to work full-time remotely, to strengthen our technical CRM team. This is not a marketing role. No copy, no design, no editorial calendar, no client contact. It’s a technical retention operations role: you think in events, properties, triggers, and edge cases.

What You Will Do

Your job: running the machine without a hitch. In concrete terms, on 100% of your time: 35% — Building complex conditional flows in Klaviyo: nested if/then/else logic, splits, triggers, exclusions (welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, winback, post-diagnostic…). 20% — Debugging Shopify ↔ Klaviyo integrations that fail: reading logs, webhooks, data that doesn’t come back, profiles that don’t enter flows.

We’re not looking for a specific background, we’re looking for a reflex: when faced with a broken thing, your first instinct is to read the log, check the doc, test a hypothesis, correct — not wait to be briefed. If that’s you, your background can come from anywhere: Dev front/back junior who prefers business logic to pure code and wants a visible impact.

Requirements

• Fluent in French
• 1 to 3 years in a technical role (dev, data, solutions/implementation, no-code, CRM ops technical)
• Natural technical logic: you reason in if/then, nested conditions don’t scare you
• You know how to read an API doc (GET/POST/webhooks) and diagnose a sync that fails
• You know how to build a end-to-end automation (trigger → conditions → actions) — on Klaviyo, or on another tool (HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Iterable, Make/n8n…)
• You are meticulous about rigor: you double-check, test, and when an error passes, you put a safeguard to prevent it from coming back — without being asked
• You use Claude daily in your workflow (debug, doc, generation of reusable logic segments) — non-negotiable
• You communicate clearly in writing (Slack, async)
