A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Sales Operations Professional at Siemens Energy, your day starts with reviewing the latest energy market trends and staying up-to-date with our competitors’ moves, sharing these developments with sales managers in the North America region to gather their insights. Depending on the planning activities’ schedule, your insights contribute to delivering a high-quality monthly sales forecast, supporting R&D decisions, factory load planning, and resource allocation, while ensuring all required updates are implemented into our CRM system (SFDC) so all activities use one source of truth. You attend meetings to discuss the latest marketing activities and strategies for our gas turbine portfolio, acting as a strategic advisor and leading or participating in special strategic assignments to protect or grow specific elements of the portfolio. You also conduct win/loss analyses of bids with the respective sales teams, creating a feedback loop across the organization while liaising with colleagues across the globe to grow your internal network and transfer learnings from other regions into the North America region. Your work has a significant global impact in a large, intercultural environment, requiring a growth and learner’s mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under minimal supervision within given boundaries.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive market and competitive intelligence: Analyze North American energy markets, competitor offerings, technical performance, pricing, and bid outcomes. Provide actionable insights to help Sales teams develop competitive pricing strategies and improve win rates.
- Shape regional portfolio strategy: Evaluate market trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, and emerging business opportunities to support the short- and long-term positioning of Siemens Energy’s gas turbine portfolio.
- Evaluate the economics of power generation solutions: Combine technical performance data and commercial assumptions to assess power plant configurations, capital expenditure (CAPEX), operating and maintenance (O&M) costs, profitability, and lifecycle economics. Support comparisons of competing solutions and recommendations on target pricing and overall value.
- Develop data-driven pricing and bid strategies: Bring together inputs from Engineering, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Product Management to evaluate customer opportunities, compare competing offerings, and recommend pricing and commercial strategies for small power, combined heat and power (CHP), and combined-cycle solutions.
- Deliver reliable sales forecasts and business insights: Analyze gas turbine portfolio forecasts, market demand, and sales pipeline data to support R&D priorities, factory load planning, and resource allocation. Translate complex data into clear recommendations using advanced Excel and analytical tools.
- Strengthen feedback and continuous improvement: Analyze won and lost offers to identify pricing trends, competitive strengths, and improvement opportunities. Share insights with Sales teams, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to continuously improve future bids and commercial decisions.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and team development: Participate in regional and global initiatives, collaborate across an international organization, and support colleagues in applying internal processes and business excellence standards.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. A master’s degree and/or MBA is an advantage.
- Relevant industry experience: 8+ years of experience in power generation, gas turbines, oil and gas, industrial equipment, or a related technical-commercial industry. Experience in energy markets, power projects, commercial strategy, pricing, or consulting is highly desirable.
- Technical-commercial understanding: Ability to understand complex industrial or power generation solutions and connect technical performance with customer requirements, commercial value, and competitive positioning.
- Pricing and financial analysis: Experience in pricing, cost modeling, profitability analysis, project economics, or financial modeling. Familiarity with CAPEX, O&M costs, NPV, lifecycle cost analysis, or Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCoE) is a strong advantage.

- Forecasting and analytical tools: Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities, with experience in forecasting, data visualization, and business intelligence tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, or Power BI. Experience with Thermoflow or similar power plant performance modeling tools is an advantage, not a requirement.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to bring together technical, financial, supply chain, and commercial inputs, manage stakeholders, and turn complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Ownership and adaptability: Comfortable working independently within established guidelines, managing multiple priorities, learning new tools, and taking initiative while seeking input when needed.
