Director, People Operations

Role Overview

The Director, People Operations will lead People Operations activities for the Bangalore office, including onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, compliance, and offboarding. The role requires a deep understanding of Indian labor laws, HR compliance, and local employment practices. The Director will partner with executive leadership to define organizational structures, workforce plans, and People strategies that align with business goals.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include leading People Operations activities, partnering with executive leadership, localizing global People policies and processes, identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience and retention, developing and implementing scalable HR processes and systems, and providing coaching and guidance to managers and team leaders.

• Deep understanding of Indian labor laws, HR compliance, and local employment practices
• Ability to think strategically while also executing hands-on projects and improvements
• Demonstrated success in partnering with executive stakeholders and influencing cross-functional teams
• Experience in scaling People programs, improving hiring quality, and reducing attrition
• Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
• Familiarity with modern HR systems and tools (e.g., Greenhouse, Confluence, BambooHR)
