Strategic FP&A Manager

Role Overview

Partner with the Head of Strategic FP&A to build a lean AI-native strategic finance and FP&A function, analyzing business challenges and driving company-wide forecasting and budgeting processes.

What You Will Do

Provide analytical frameworks for cross-functional colleagues, determine return on ad spend benchmarks, set team member hiring targets, and establish spending discipline across the company.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of total experience in strategic finance or FP&A roles
• AI-native mindset
• Intuitive understanding of data analysis and financial modeling
• Experience with modern FP&A tools (e.g., Adaptive, Aleph, Fintastic, Causal, Cube)
• High ownership, self-confidence, and low ego
• Motivated by Substack’s mission
