The New York Times is seeking a creative senior data analyst to support the Times journalistic mission. The successful candidate will join the Data and Insights Group and be embedded in the Algorithmic Targeting team to develop, deploy, test, and analyze machine learning models to drive reader engagement and subscription.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with data analytics or data science teams
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • 1+ years of experience in A/B testing or experimental methods
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery, AWS, or other big data environments
  • Comfort with version control (Github, code review)
  • 1+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Mode, Tableau, or Lookr
  • 1+ years of experience applying statistics to strategic problems
