Senior Data Engineer

Join Vodafone as a Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform. Work closely with Product Owner and BI Engineers to ensure smooth data feed from various sources to GCP and internal clients.

Requirements

• At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar position, designing and developing infrastructure for large/medium scale migration projects to GCP or other cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS)
• Hands on experience in migrating on-premises pipelines to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using tools such as BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run
• Proficiency in Python will be highly desirable
• Solid experience with large-scale production databases and SQL scripting, including cost monitoring and performance tuning
• Good understanding of data warehouse concepts and architectures will be considered as an asset
• Experience in ETL development (data extractions, loading, aggregation, transformation) using tools like Dataform, dbt or similar
• Experience participating in enterprise transformation projects or migrations from legacy systems will be highly appreciated
• Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker
• Experience with IaaC (e.g. Terraform)
• Experience with Oracle Databases and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
• Experience working in agile environments
• Promoter of cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both Greek & English
