The Senior Financial Analyst will be in a full-time role and will be part of the Finance team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

Overview

We are looking for a highly capable and commercially minded Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in Singapore. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is highly analytical, extremely advanced in Excel and confident working with complex financial data to support business decisions.

The financial analyst will be working closely with almost all the teams in BWD, from the CFO and the finance team as a whole, the senior leadership team, to the operation and sales teams.

The role will require to provide financial analysis, modelling, reporting and business insights across the organisation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with large data sets, developing business cases and financial models, identifying trends and translating data into clear recommendations for management.

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, challenging assumptions and using data to help drive better commercial and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst has the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models, forecasts and scenario analysis.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis across revenue, costs, capital expenditure, project investment and business performance.
  • Build financial models to support strategic initiatives, investments and business decisions.
  • Analyse variances against budget, forecast and prior periods, identifying key drivers and trends.
  • Develop sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess financial and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure financial models are accurate, robust, well‑structured and easy to understand.

Business Cases & Commercial Analysis

  • Lead the financial analysis and modelling supporting business cases, investments and strategic initiatives.
  • Assess financial viability, returns, risks and key assumptions associated with proposed initiatives.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand commercial drivers and translate operational assumptions into financial outcomes.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide objective financial insight to support decision-making.
  • Prepare clear analysis and recommendations for CFO and senior leadership.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, risks and performance drivers.
  • Develop meaningful analysis and dashboards to improve visibility of business and financial performance.
  • Work with Finance and business teams to improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of financial data.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline recurring reporting and analysis.
  • Translate complex data into clear and commercially relevant insights.

Management Reporting

  • Prepare high‑quality monthly and quarterly financial analysis and management reporting for the CFO and senior leadership.
  • Develop executive-level reporting, presentations and analysis highlighting key financial and business trends.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning processes.
  • Provide ad‑hoc analysis and reporting to support CFO and executive decision‑making.

Business Partnership

  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Projects and other business functions to understand performance and financial drivers.
  • Support senior stakeholders with financial insight and analysis on key initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation while maintaining appropriate financial rigour and challenge.
  • Act as a trusted analytical partner to the CFO and wider leadership team.

Qualifications & Experiences

You will be a highly analytical finance professional who combines strong technical financial capability with commercial business acumen. You are comfortable working independently, managing complex analysis and presenting your findings to senior stakeholders.

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting or finance qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA or CFA would be advantageous.
  • Typically 7+ years’ relevant experience, with demonstrated experience operating at a senior analytical level.
  • Significant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, commercial finance, investment analysis or a similar role.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build complex financial models from scratch.
  • Strong experience in financial modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and evaluating business cases.
  • Strong data analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements, financial drivers and business performance.
  • Experience preparing management and executive‑level reporting.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, growing environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • A proactive and hands‑on approach, with the ability to move between detailed analysis and high‑level strategic thinking.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel — financial modelling, complex formulas, pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Business case development and investment analysis.
  • Management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Strong data manipulation and analytical capability.
  • Power BI or similar data visualisation/BI tools.
  • Experience with ERP/financial systems.
  • Power Query / Power Pivot.
  • Experience working with large or complex datasets.
  • Experience in infrastructure, data centres, technology, telecommunications, projects or other capital‑intensive environments.
