About the role
Responsible for managing client accounts and project-related financial matters, ensuring accurate accounting records, cash flow monitoring, and effective coordination with internal teams and clients.
Key responsibilities
Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations using
AutoCount , ensuring accurate and complete accounting records.
Take ownership of project accounting, including monitoring project revenue, costs, expenses and profitability.
Ensure
monthly closing is completed accurately and within the required timeline , with all necessary entries, reconciliations and supporting documents completed.
Review accounting entries and reconciliations to
minimize accounting errors, unexplained balances and rework .
Investigate discrepancies and ensure unexplained balances are identified and resolved promptly.
Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable records, including monitoring outstanding balances and following up on overdue accounts.
Prepare and review
Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement
and other financial and management reports accurately and on time.
Monitor project financial performance and highlight significant variances, cost issues or potential risks to management.
Monitor foreign currency transactions and understand the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on project costs and financial results.
Review quotations, invoices, payment documents and other accounting-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation to
minimize audit adjustments
and ensure audit readiness.
Coordinate with auditors, tax agents and other external parties on accounting, audit and tax matters.
Coordinate with relevant parties on
tax and e-Invoice matters , where applicable.
Ensure accounting and tax-related submissions, documentation and supporting information are prepared accurately and within the required deadlines.
Work closely with clients, suppliers, project teams and management on accounting and payment matters.
Identify accounting issues and provide practical solutions to management.
Requirements
Degree or Master in
Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field .
Minimum
6 years of relevant accounting experience , preferably in a project-based or SME environment.
Proficient in
AutoCount
software.
Good understanding of
project accounting, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement
and
foreign currency exchange .
Candidates with
Malaysia accounting/tax experience will be preferred
Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills, detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Able to work independently and manage multiple accounts/projects.
