Singdata provides data and analytics solutions that help enterprises turn complex data into actionable business insights. We are expanding our presence in Singapore and the broader APAC market, and are looking for a hunter-mentality Business Development Representative to build our regional pipeline.
About the Role
You’ll spend the majority of your time on live outbound conversations, primarily via cold calling, backed by a structured, data-driven targeting framework rather than static call lists.You will identify high-signal accounts (companies showing real buying triggers — infrastructure migrations, funding events, executive changes, technology-stack signals), prioritize them systematically, and convert them into qualified pipeline through direct, personal outreach — calling first, other channels in support.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound execution (primary focus)
- Make outbound cold calls as your core daily activity — target: 50–70 dials/day, adjusted for account tier and time zone coverage
- Run structured, multi-touch cadences (call → email → LinkedIn) where calling leads and other channels reinforce, not replace, live conversations
- Hold live discovery conversations using structured questioning (e.g., SPIN) to qualify business need, technical fit, and buying timeline — not just “interested/not interested”
- Apply lightweight qualification criteria (BANT, or MEDDPICC fundamentals where relevant) so opportunities handed to AEs are genuinely sales-ready
- Book qualified meetings directly with target economic and technical buyers
Data-driven targeting
- Prioritize accounts using intent and firmographic signals (e.g., infrastructure/tech-stack signals, hiring signals, funding events, expansion moves) rather than static lead lists
- Build and maintain account and contact research using modern prospecting tools (e.g., Clay, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, intent-data platforms) to inform call opens and personalization
- Track and report activity and conversion metrics weekly: dials, connect rate, conversation-to-meeting rate, meeting-to-SQL rate, and pipeline sourced
- Review call recordings together with your manager to continuously refine talk tracks and objection handlingPipeline and collaboration
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the CRM for every call and meeting
- Partner with marketing on account-based plays for your highest-signal target accounts
- Support webinars, industry events, and campaigns — driving target-account attendance and doing prompt outbound
Follow-up with attendees
- Hand off qualified opportunities cleanly to account executives and solution consultants with full context
- Share frontline market feedback (objections, competitive mentions, messaging gaps) to sharpen GTM positioning
Requirements
- ~3 years in business development, sales development, inside sales, or a related B2B customer-facing role
- Demonstrated comfort with high-volume cold calling — this role lives on the phone, not just in inboxes
- Experience in enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, data, or analytics preferred
- Native-level English, written and verbal
- Resilient, self-motivated, and comfortable with a high-rejection, target-driven role
- Comfortable being measured on both activity metrics and outcomes
- Strong understanding of the Singapore business environment and professional standards
- Familiarity with CRM systems and modern sales engagement/prospecting tools
- Excellent discovery, listening, and objection-handling skillsPreferred Qualifications
- Business-level Mandarin Chinese
- Proficiency in an additional Southeast Asian language (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Thai) is a plus
- Existing network or experience with enterprises in Singapore, SEA, or Greater China
- Experience selling data platforms, BI, cloud, or enterprise technology
- Experience with signal- or intent-based prospecting tools and structured outbound methodologies
